House of Lords and ACID Ambassador

Lord Tim Clement-Jones, CBE, House of Lords and ACID Ambassador is a former Chair of the Liberal party and Chair of Finance and Federal Treasurer of the Liberal Democrats. He was made CBE for political services in 1988 and a life peer in 1998. He is a former Liberal Democrat spokesperson on Health and on Culture, Media and Sport in the House of Lords and is the current Liberal Democrat House of Lords Digital spokesperson. Tim is former Chair of the House of Lords Select Committee on Artificial Intelligence and a former member of House of Lords Select Committees on Communications and Digital, the Built Environment, and Risk Assessment and Planning. He was a member of the Joint Select Committee on the Draft Online Safety Bill. He is Co-Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on AI. He is Deputy Chair of the All- Party Parliamentary Group on China and Vice Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Groups on Music; The Future of Work; Digital Regulation and Responsibility; Ticket Abuse; Performers Alliance; Writers; Ovarian Cancer; Pharmacy; PICTFOR; and Indonesia. He is Treasurer for the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Intellectual Property and the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Data Poverty. Tim is a founding member of the OECD Parliamentary Group on AI and a former Consultant to the Council of Europe’s Ad-hoc Committee on AI ("CAHAI"). Accepting the role of ACID Ambassador, Lord Clement-Jones CBE., said, “Design rights are a crucial part of our economy and they and our IP creators badly need better protection. So, I am delighted to have been invited to be an ACID Ambassador and have enthusiastically accepted!”
